The EU might “act quickly and firmly” in response to what it deems “unjustified” travel bans imposed by the United States against five Europeans working on combating online hate and misinformation, a European Commission spokesperson has said.

European Leaders Decry US Action as ‘Coercion’

European leaders including Emmanuel Macron charged the US administration of “coercion and intimidation”, after the travel bans were placed on figures who have been central to efforts to introduce legislation regulating US-based technology firms.
